1 Overall Job Purpose

1.1 Marine tasks onboard FPSO such as - assisting with offload/bunkering operations, load/backload with supply vessels/material handling within FPSO, helicopter operations, fabric maintenance, scaffolding activities, housekeeping at various locations onboard and any other assignments that the Marine Supt/Cargo Supervisor/Deck Supervisor may ask, aiming to ensure that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently and economically.

2 Core Responsibilities

2.1 Contribute to safe mooring/unmooring operations, assist with hose connection of offload tanker/bunker supply vessel and monitoring of offload/bunker operations by following operating procedures, safety standards, task risk assessment & toolbox talk instructions.

2.2 Assist in load-backload operations from supply vessel, movement of cargo within the facility by following respective procedure, material handling activities, check load for balance and proper attachment, clearance & obstructions. Ensure safety, correct body positioning and safe lifting procedures. Safe Chemical transportation by ensuring collection of information from MSDS prior chemical handling.

2.3 Contribute to housekeeping of entire main deck, around accommodation decks, lay down areas, marine stores and waste management by hosing down on regular basis and proper garbage collection, segregation and disposal.

2.4 Preserve facility by carrying out chipping and painting jobs utilizing good surface preparation and correct paint application.

2.5 Examine the electrical/pneumatic equipment, portable manual tools before and after use, report any damage or possible risk by carrying out routine checks and assisting in maintenance.

2.6 Support helideck operations on board by carrying out tasks assigned by HLO.

2.7 Assembling & Dismantling of scaffolds safely by complying with procedures, industry standards and scaffold data book.

2.8 Demonstrate ownership of own training requirements and proactively arrange training to be done/renewed in time as per MODEC Integrated Management System.

6.1 Maintain Housekeeping due to several other urgent cargo/material movements within the unit.

6.2 Maintain unit constantly in good condition due to excessive corrosion.

6.3 Perform consistently despite odd and long working hours due to short notice of supply vessels prior to arrival, day or night.

7 Qualifications & Experience

7.1 Educational Qualification:

High School Degree

7.2 Certifications:

Shall hold AB STCW Certificate II/5 as per STCW/IMO Resolution A.1079(28)

Below courses will be an added advantage:

  • FRC
  • Banksman & Rigger
  • Scaffolding

7.3 Trainings:

-All Mandatory STCW courses required for Able Seaman

-Complies with the Training Matrix and Regulatory Required by Modec Training Management Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).

7.4 Relevant Experience:

Previous Offshore experience or sailing experience on merchant tanker ship
