Contracts Manager are responsible for managing Client Contract along with the management of the Contracts team including the management of high risks and /or large size contracts and supporting complex commercial contract negoitations. Typically assigned to project and to assist the project managers and required to work in Project environment and also work for corporate activities. They bring counsel and guide the PMT with contractual, commercial and technical knowledge in order to provide the required guidance

Core Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for all contract documentation on Project assigned. Advise key internal stakeholders, including project managers and directors, re commercial & contract risks and support development and implementation of risk management strategies and plans.
  • Overall responsibility for prequalification and Request For Quotations (RFQs) on all contracts on Project assigned. Post award Client contract management in collaboration with the Project Management Team (PMT), including associated insurances, guarantees, securities, drafting and/or review and approval of contract notices, amendments, change requests, warranty claims, review and approval of change orders, and formalization of contract closeout.
  • Overall responsibility for all aspects of contracts for the Project assigned. In collaboration with the PMT, develop and maintain the project subcontracting strategy, subcontracting plan and subcontracting procedures, and manage a team of contracts personnel to develop issue and evaluate tenders and develop and award subcontracts (possibly preceded by Letters of Intent, Preliminary Works Letters, etc.) compliant with the subcontracting strategy and subcontracting plan and in compliance with Company Group policy.
  • Post award subcontract management, supervising a team of contracts personnel and in collaboration with the PMT, including associated insurances, guarantees, securities, drafting and/or review and approval of subcontract notices, amendments, change requests and change orders, warranty claims, and formalization of subcontract closeout. Support procurement re-negotiation of purchase order terms and conditions and resolution of claims.

Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of commercial/contracts experience.
  • Knowledge of the technical, contractual and commercial disciplines connected with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects.
  • Preferably with experience in the offshore oil & gas industry.
