Role Purpose

IT Manager will plan, lead, advise and manage the timely provision of IT infrastructure, solutions, resources and governance to enable and support project teams, user departments and individual users to conduct their work effectively, securely and efficiently. In order to perform the above tasks, the candidate must have extensive experience and knowledge of Network, Server, Cloud System, Security, Finance, etc., and must be able to plan and prepare such documents. In addition, work will be required to participate in, execute, and manage special IT projects in the oil industry. (FPSO EPCI Project)

Key Accountabilities

IT Budget Management

Oversee both capital expenditure (Capex) and operating expenditure, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of IT resources.

Project Schedule Management

Monitor project schedules and report variances within critical limits as defined in the project charter.

Expert IT Procurement Advice

Advise departments on the evaluation and procurement of IT solutions and services to enable business operations.

Stakeholder Interaction

Engage with Country Managers, CIO, Department Managers, Project Managers, IT Managers, and IT Directors to align IT initiatives with business goals.

Team Supervision

Oversee and guide IT team members in the Malaysia office, ensuring effective performance and development.

Resource Provision

Ensure timely provision of the right IT resources, including third-party resources, to meet project and operational needs.

IT Project Management

Oversee IT projects, ensuring compliance with company IT standards and successful project delivery.

IT Infrastructure and Security

Develop and maintain IT infrastructure and security policies, frameworks, and processes to safeguard company assets.

IT Performance Monitoring

Track IT performance, identify gaps, and implement follow-up actions to improve IT services and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Global IT Project Management

Provide IT direction and advice to local IT teams in the global region, ensuring successful project execution and alignment with global standards.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology
•10+ years of experience in managing IT Systems for a midsize or large company preferably in Oil and Gas Industry
•PMP/Cobit 5/Prince2 or other qualifications

Competencies

Technical:

•Must have strong knowledge and hands on experience with Windows Server 2K12/2k16, Linux, Microsoft SCCM, and VMware/Nutanix virtualization, AWS or Azure Cloud, MS 365,CISCO Network
•Must have experience in playing implementor role and managing IT Infrastructure related project (eg. New office infra setup, implement new infra solutions/services)
•Working experience in Active Directory and implementing/troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPO), Windows desktop image deployment.
•Good project management skills with at least few cycles of end-to-end project involvement.
•Ability to work in a global team environment with strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills is a must.
•Ability to work as individual contributor with minimum supervision
•Ability to effectively self-plan, manage, prioritize and execute tasks under low clarity situation.
•Technical certification such as MCSE, Cisco, ITIL, Cloud certification (AMS/AZURE), PMP would be advantages.
•Outside field work and working at heights are required, as the shipyard installations must also be supervised and executed.
•Due to the global presence of stakeholders, it is necessary to attend meetings at irregular times.
