To lead a team of project cost controllers, supervise various cost control functions and ensure accurate and timely reporting of project cost status to Project Controls Manager/Project Manager for appropriate decision making in favor of the Project. The main job challenge is the effective management of a diverse team to deliver with quality the designated requirements within the broader project team.
Delivery Management | Directs and manages a team of cost controllers to ensure that cost control for the assigned projects is done effectively and timely. |
Project Cost Control Initiation | Sets up cost control systems & procedures for the project. |
Cost Risk Management | Identifies and devises ways to mitigate risks affecting forecast cost at completion. Reviews Budget vs Forecast during different stages of project and takes appropriate decisions to mitigate overrun. |
Cost Reporting | Reviews project cost reports ensuring presentation of reliable and accurate information to the management. Provides updated information on project progress and execution budget to finance during auditing. |
Invoice Management | Reviews purchase orders/subcontract agreements for budget & schedule alignment. Reviews & approves vendor/sub-contractor invoices, and participates in change orders and out of contract claims negotiations. |
Cost Variation Management | Oversees management of cost changes and variation control. |
Advise project proposal | Provide feedback to bidding team based on actual execution of the project in order to incorporate the changes in future project proposals. |
Development of Cost Controllers | Trains senior cost controllers in relation to various cost control activities developing the capability of the team. |
- 5 to 10 years progressive experience in project cost control/management.
- Degree in Engineering, Accounting or Business Management or its equivalent.
- Familiarity with FPSO projects including some technical knowledge.
- Understanding basic level of project management process.
- PC Skills with proficiency in MS Office.
- Due to different project locations, Job holder needs to keep up with different languages to ensure clear understanding and time differences.
