1 Overall Job Purpose

1.1 Responsible for all crane operations/winch operations, carrying out routine checks, assist in maintenance and lubrication, safely carry out Load/backload and movement of cargo, Helicopter operations and Housekeeping, aiming to ensure that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently and economically.

2 Core Responsibilities

2.1 Operate all cranes and winches on-board safely by following Modec procedures, Manufacturer’s instructions/recommendations and being fully conversant with the equipment, it´s alarms, safety features and emergency operation, complying with weather limitations for crane operations.

2.2 Carry our pre operation checks of crane(s), reporting any defects. Checks to be carried out in accordance with manufacturers requirements, and checklists. Crane Operator must have basic knowledge of various tests and routine maintenance/lubrication schedules and assist Maintenance Team in accomplishing those tasks.

2.3 Contribute in Safe Personnel transfer operation between offshore units and other vessels using certified Personnel Transfer Basket or by other means as per availability on the unit by following procedures and guidelines.

2.4 Control Load-backload operations from supply vessel in the capacity of Crane Operator, assist in movement of cargo within the unit by following respective procedure, check load for balance and proper attachment, clearance, obstructions. Ensure safety, correct body positioning and safe lifting procedures. Safe Chemical transportation by ensuring collection of information from MSDS prior chemical handling.

2.5 Support helideck operations in receiving helicopter on-board by carrying out jobs assigned by HLO.

2.6 Contribute in the housekeeping of entire main deck, around accommodation decks, lay down areas and stores, controlling waste management by hosing down on regular basis and proper garbage collection, segregation and disposal.

2.7 Ensure certified and proper color-coded Lifting gear is always used by changing the color of LG as soon as it is certified. Assist with maintenance of lifting gear Register

2.8 Assist in upkeep of marine systems, equipment, lifting gear & loose gear including routine checks and tests.

2.9 Demonstrate ownership of own training requirements and proactively arrange training to be done/renewed in time as per MODEC Integrated Management System.

7 Qualifications & Experience

7.1 Educational Qualification:

High Scholl degree.

7.2 Certifications:

Offshore Crane operator.

7.3 Trainings: Complies with the Training Matrix and Regulatory and Required by Modec Training Management Procedure, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).

7.4 Relevant Experience:

3 years Crane Operator experience offshore.

Knowledge of Computerized Planned Maintenance System as AMOS / MAXIMO / SAP / PROP etc.
